2008 Divers Meeting Summary

1. Opening Remarks, Welcome to all, thanks to all for a great year in 2007
2. Results of annual WDA elections:
   President: Bob Reynolds
   Vice President: Bucky Chubbuck
   Treasurer: Tim Huff
   Assistant Treasurer: Roberta Chubbuck
   Secretary: Robin Reynolds & Roberta Chubbuck
   
3. Welcome the newest members of WDA: Al & Jenny Jolicoeur
4. Track Manager & Crew: Rick and the whole crew were GREAT last year, and almost all of them will be back in 2008!
5. Rules Changes/Clarifications:


• The rules for Bye Runs and Buy backs were amended to allow Buy Backs to be eligible for Bye Runs after all others have had a Bye Run.
• The rules for the classes were ammended to allow air and/or electric shifters in Pro Class.
6. Preseason Track Prep: Current plans are to prep the track on April 12 & 13 and April 19 & 20 approximately 8:30 AM until done each day. This includes normal track clean up, painting, replace the scoreboards, etc.
   All dates are weather permitting.
   All assistance will be GREATLY appreciated!.
7. Planned Improvements:
• We plan to pave the shutdown area; extending from near the finish line out as far as available funds permit. To ensure a good result, this will have to wait until the frost is completely gone and the area is thoroughly dried and settled.
  The more funds we have, the more we can do!
  Please contact any member of WDA if you want to donate or assist in any way?
  
• We plan to install 2 additional poles for lights and speakers as soon as the grass areas are dry enough to dig the trenches and holes and pour the concrete bases.
8. Review of the 2008 Schedule:
• Street Nights, Support them or lose them!!
• "Scheduled only as rain date for" means just that! If we don't need it as a rain date, there is nothing scheduled for those dates!
• For all weekends that have both Saturday and Sunday events scheduled there is a"weekend pass" available at a reduced price! MUST be purchased on Saturday!
• Gassah Guy events may be open for all vehicles 25 or more years old! Watch for updates.
• Tri County Street Rods day on August 2nd is open to all 1975 and older "Street Legal" vehicles. Admission is $8.00, Tech is $5.00.
  
• October 5th is the last day of points! That will NOT change even if it rains on that date!
9. Tractor for the track: We NEED one! Please contact any WDA member if you have a lead on a bargain? We will consider all options, new, used, leased, or as a sponsorship?
10. Purse: Paybacks will extend 1 round deeper this year for all regular bracket program and double normal purse events!
11. Teen Class: Please help us support and build on this class? The young people doing this are great racers and are having fun!
12. Bill Dammier won the 50/50 raffle! Congrats Bill!
13. Questions/Comments: The floor was opened for all comments and questions from any one, and remained open until all were addressed.
