Free Pass Contest

Congratulations to Bob Bradley of Yarmouth.  Bob was the March winner of the free pass/tech card contest.  This month’s contest is once again underway, so don’t forget to get your entry in.  Good luck to all the contest entrants.  Special thanks to all whom have taken the time to enter the contest over the last three months.  Each month we are seeing new entrants enter the contest.  This month as an extra bonus we will be awarding an additional free pass into the track.

 

Jordan’s Snack Bar Car Show

Jordan’s Snack Bar in Ellsworth will be holding its Annual Spring Car Show on April 27th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  There will be a People’s Choice Award for each class.  There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

 

Driver’s Meeting

On opening day, May 4, there will be a brief driver’s meeting to discuss rules changes and to go over any questions about the upcoming season that you may have.  

 

Race For The Championship

The 2003 Points Series Championship will soon be underway.  Check out the entry form and all the rules related to the 2003 Points Series on the web site.  Print out a copy and return it to Derrick Cunningham.  Good luck to this year’s participants.  In the coming weeks there may be some exciting news regarding a sponsor for this championship series.

 

Pre-Season Work Sessions

The scheduled work sessions are on April 19th, 26th and possibly the 27th (weather permitting).  These sessions will help get the track ready for the season and test all the computer equipment.  If you are able to help out please attend one of these sessions. Any help is welcome and will be greatly appreciated.  Work scheduled for these sessions are:

1.     Re-installing the scoreboards and wiring.

2.    Sweeping the area around the tower.

3.    Putting barriers back into place.

4.    Testing timing equipment.

5.    Organizing the tower and office area.

6.    Cleaning up and filling in the area at the end of track where the barriers were moved last year.

7.    Sweeping the track surface, staging area and the pits.

Blue Hill Car Show

 

On July 19, 2003 the Sedgwick Fire Department will be holding its Annual Car Show at the Blue Hill Fairgrounds.  Further details will be forthcoming. This event was previously scheduled for July 12th. For more info, please contact David Carter at: dacarter@gwi.net

Chassis Certification

 

Mac Beckwith is attempting to coordinate a Chassis Certification session at Winterport Dragway sometime in May. He needs at least 12 cars to make it happen. If you are interested, or want more info, please E-Mail Mac at: mac23t@aol.com

 

Notes from the Manager
